[...] I bet some of y’all are wondering why I haven’t been as active in carnival participation as I was back in April and May. To be quite frank, I was getting tired of them. One week after the next brought another plain, boring list of articles. Let me first say that a few people have put together really, really, really great carnivals in the past. And I like to think of myself as one of those people. [...]

[...] And finally, Punny Money has the amazing honor of hosting the very first carnival–The Carnival of the Vanities–next week. So if you write a truly excellent article this week on any topic, send it in using either the Conservative Cat or Blog Carnival submission forms or via e-mail. The hard deadline for entries is Tuesday, June 6th at 6pm Eastern Daylight Time, and I promise to put together a show for the ages. Check out my stint as the Festival of Frugality host to see what you can expect. [...]

[...] There’s still time to get in your submissions for the Festival of Job Hunting which will be located right here next week. If you’ve recently written a piece relating to finding a job, starting a job, keeping a job, losing a job, what to do between jobs, or making the most out of a job, then it belongs in the Festival of Job Hunting. I’m sure you remember how much fun was had by all when the last carnival rolled through these parts, and I promise this one will be at least 7% more exciting than that one. [...]

One of the best carnivals I've read on any topic, but especially great in the financial arena. Your comments and organization really added value to the posts. Thanks, and keep up the good work!

anon, I totally understand the food issues a pregnant woman may have, and I would never ever stand in my wife's way when she's reaching for the fridge to feed herself and her baby. I'm talking more of the time before she's pregnant so she doesn't enter the pregnancy with weight issues. But she's always been good about her eating habits, so I'm sure I won't have to do a thing to help her eat healthy other than buy the food and tell her how beautiful she looks (which she does!).

And I hope others won't hesitate to share their thoughts on anything I post, even if you disagree! The day everyone agrees with me will be a strange one indeed.

Dave, I usually alternate between peanut butter and jelly, ham and American cheese, or grilled cheese (sometimes with peanut butter) when I'm working at home.

Everyone else, thank you so so much for your kind words. I absolutely loved putting this carnival together, and I'm looking forward to doing it again soon. If you know of a carnival for which you think I might be a good host, or if you're putting together a carnival and you're looking for hosts, feel free to drop me a line and I'd be happy to help!

A great carnival. Thank you.

Please be careful when it comes to "I’ll be sure to help my wife watch her own weight so she doesn’t experience the same problems as Meredith when we start having children." Pregnancy is a hard time for food issues -- some of us need to eat often to keep morning sickness at bay, and it's not helpful to have someone else carping about one's eating at the time. Postpartum can also be a touchy time for food for a nursing mom. Keeping healthy food around the house and encouraging activity *with you participating too*, on the other hand, are great.

I understand that you may not choose to let this through since I'm sending it anonymously. That's fine with me, since it's really just feedback for you.

Thanks for hosting. Your presentation of carnival is stylish with graphics. I feel like I really need to brush up my web design skills.
