Sign #32 That You Should Buy A New Mixer: It Is On Fire

I think it’s time for us to get a new mixer. My wife just sent me the following note:
I think we need a new cake mixer. Yeah, the inside of it lit up and burnt for a split second (a tiny flame inside) so I turned it off and it went out.
To review, it’s probably time to buy a new mixer when one or more of the following occurs:
- The inside of it lights up.
- It burns for a split second.
- There’s a tiny flame inside.
This post is dedicated to our mixer. R.I.P. 1991-2007.

You can have our mixer. Heck you can have our whole kitchen. Only leave us the microwave for my fish sticks.

Same thing happened to an electric hedge clipper we bought at an auction. We tried to return it, but they had left.

Same thing happened to me. I took a cake decorating course to save us money on buying fancy birthday cakes and had to make a stiff icing for the class. I smelled something burning…yup, the mixer! Ended up spending money on a new mixer instead of saving money.
I know everyone is crazy about Kitchen Aid, but I actually found a higher wattage on a Hamilton Beach electric mixer and it was about a hundred bucks cheaper. Just an FYI.
