I bought my TV about 8 years ago and I am having hard time justifying an upgrade. We have 32" flat screen Sony CRT.

The only TV I've ever bought with my own money was a nightmare to purchase. It was Black Friday at Wal-Mart. Rainy. Angry mob. 27" color TV for a little over $100. The box wouldn't fit in my car. The box started melting in the rain. I broke off my rear-view mirror trying to squeeze the TV into the car.

But it still works great to this day, so I'm not yet tempted to get a newer one.

I used money I got from a bonus at work last year to purchase the first new tv I've ever owned. I spent just under $500 for an HDTV (display model, on sale) Prior to that I'd spent a total of $60 on televisions in my life. I bout a $20 tv in college from someone who was graduating. Bought my second TV for $40 at a thrift store when I moved into my own apt for the first time.
