So much more affordable than those GIGANTIC ones that are, like, $12. Then you can still sneak in some other candy or whatever if you're still peckish. Been doing this for years. If I need to see a movie, I'll wait until it gets the the cheap theaters. Or I'll wait until it gets on TV or DVD and rent it for $1.00 at the local drug store. I'm lucky enough to work for a corporation (part-time) that offers free movie tickets and gift cards for doing this, that or the other thing right, so we almost never have to pay for movies or popcorn, and we ALWAYS go to matinees. I love going to the movies. I'll me oh so sad if they go the way of the drive-ins. Thanks for the terrific post. I love the cartoons! It's ridiculous. Also don't be a frugultralist and never go out for a good movie with friends just because of the price. Also check your local university or college, usually they have a movie theater and some times they do show brand new movies, on a smaller screen of course but for a much better price. If popcorn was $1.50 for a large tub, I'd probably end up getting it. $5.00 nej tak. The cost of tickets usually just recoup what the theater pays to run the movies. Concessions are where they generate the most revenue. Of course that doesn't mean I buy the popcorn. My ticket pays for my right to watch the movie. I have no interest in keeping the movie theater in business; I have alternative sources of entertainment. So, no popcorn for me.
