Lol I didn't know people would actually steal the 4's from the gas signs. Seems kind of difficult to do being that they're high up and usually in a well trafficked area.

I see a post about Canadians paying more... yes you guys pay more, and your gas taxes also pay health care. Come to the U.S. of A. where we have to shell out thousands a year to pay for crappy healthcare. Trust me, I'd rather pay an extra buck a gallon any day for health care.

While I feel bad that Americans are paying close to $4.00 on gas, we in Canada are paying close to $5.50 per gallon. $1.279 per litre here!!

This high gas price is definitely having an affect on people's psyches which will in turn have them demand cheaper alternatives from the big automobile suppliers....

It's this kind of event - high gas prices - that will finally get some changes made... Hopefully.

CleverDude--The cartoon figure is getting ready to pump. The gas total reflects the previous person's purchase: 12.07 gallons at $4.199/gallon.

Chris -- Many people have financial problems. And for families on tight budgets, high gas prices will exacerbate those problems. There are many who were living beneath their means already but will have trouble making up the shortfall.

Your pump in the cartoon is broken. It charged you $50.68, but at $4.479 per gallon and 12.07 gallons, the cost would be $54.06. I don't think that pump would pass state inspection :)

I may be one of the few that thinks higher gas prices are good. That will force us to 1) stop driving big SUV's and reduce our country's intake on oil, which is 1/3 of the world's intake and 2) force people to budget and LIVE BELOW THEIR MEANS. If you can't afford an extra $100 a month for gas, you have financial problems.
