I used to work for a call center on behalf of charities. Ever since then, I will never give money to any charity over the phone. It’s purely a business, and hence they’re a lot of profits to be made.

Good point. Always ask questions before giving. Make sure you’re giving to something that you are sure your contribution will actually be used for what you are giving it for.

You provided strong points here. In my case, whenever I give to charity, I don’t consider much how my donation is “divided” like what you’ve presented in your pie chart. I guess I’ll stick to your advice to give it directly to the organization. Also, I prefer small charities, those that can’t afford promotional materials and company tie-ups because they are the ones that badly needs our help.
