I agree. Regular bill pay where you enter the amounts yourself each and every month is a jewel in the crown of a frugal lifestyle. I pay just about all of my bills using this form of "manual" bill pay, and I'll never go back to the old way. You have to feel a bit sorry for the postal service, though. Here they are, providing a service to us for decades, and then the internet comes around and we're just like "Pfft! Who needs stamps anymore?"

So the next time you see your mailman, be sure to go up to him and apologize for not helping to put his kids through college...

...though I guess being the recipient of tons of junk mail helps make up for it.

First off...hilarious commentary, nice job.

Second, I just wanted to make sure that there is a difference here between auto bill-pay and just regualr interenet based bill-pay. I assume that with auto bill-pay, the bank just gets the balance sent right to them and then it gets auto deducted? This is different than what I do now where I get bills sent to me and have to enter the value and date to pay?

If it is different, I would agree, it is probably not worth it. However, regualr bill pay absolutely rules. I haven't written a check or mailed anything in over 6 years and it is great.
